Would your business like to support a great local cause? Cambridge BID has been collaborating with It Takes a City and the Pay it Forward Scheme.
Pay It Forward or PIF was created in Cambridge and is now expanding to other towns. It's a non-profit organisation supporting people in need to access food, toiletries, and other essentials.
PIF has gifted a number of Love Cambridge Gift Cards (each £20 value) to local charities (e.g. Jimmy’s, Cambridge Housing Society, Crossways). Using these Gift Cards, charity staff can take the service users/residents they’re supporting to a range of Cambridge establishments for a hot drink, lunch, or a haircut – this supports the local economy too, as Gift Cards can only be spent in person.
Would you like to ‘pay it forward’ so that someone in need can benefit from your kindness? Cambridge BID has sponsored the Love Cambridge Gift Cards gifted to Jimmy's, and we would love to hear from any businesses that would like to support the initiative too. Email info@cambridgebid.co.uk
Theresa Feetenby, Founder of Pay It Forward:
“I am delighted to be working with Cambridge BID to help support not only the local economy, but to also help people in need and alleviate costs that the charity would otherwise have to cover from their own budget. The Pay it Forward Scheme can also support other towns, please email pifvouchers@outlook.com for more information.”
Alice Gilderdale, It Takes a City:
'It's fantastic to see partnership working across Cambridge which supports our most vulnerable residents and promotes local businesses. I look forward to seeing this project develop, and encourage local organisations to get involved.”
