Cambridge Business Improvement District (BID) is today launching a promotional Christmas film for the city.
Featuring local retailers, festive streetscapes and the community’s Rock Choir, the two-minute film celebrates the magical atmosphere of the city in the run up to Christmas. Entitled ‘A Cambridge Christmas Carol’, the video can be viewed here:
Kristian Foreman, Marketing & Projects Manager at Cambridge BID, who produced and directed the film, said: “Cambridge sparkles at Christmas-time, as our festive lights twinkle and shine across the city. We wanted the video to capture some of the city’s Christmas spirit, while also encouraging people to shop local and support their high street.”
Choir leader Carrie Rawlings said: "Being part of the film was an incredible experience for the members of Cambridge Rock Choir as they love their community and want to support its local businesses. They also love singing, so what better partnership in making a film of this kind.
“It was a memorable day’s filming and we are grateful to Cambridge BID for asking us to take part. We felt like movie stars!"
With 20 shopping days left until Christmas, Cambridge offers plenty of present options, stocking fillers and festive food selections, thanks to its vibrant mix of independent stores and national outlets.
Kristian added: “And if you’re stuck for ideas, the Love Cambridge Gift Card makes a fantastic gift because it can be redeemed at more than 200 shops, eateries and other outlets across Cambridge. Your friend or relative will be spoilt for choice, and our local retailers will welcome the injection of cash in January.”
