With approximately 6,000 Chinese people working, studying and living in Cambridge, and Cambridge being one of the most popular destinations with Chinese leisure and business visitors, the city is a major centre of Chinese cultural activities. To promote ties between the local communities, businesses and organisations, the Cambridge China Centre and Cambridge Chinese Community Centre will be jointly organising the ‘Cambridge Chinese Culture Festival 2019’ during the Lunar New Year. For 2019 the Chinese New Year’s Day falls on Tuesday 5th Feb 2019.

Surrounding the big day, ‘Cambridge Chinese Culture Festival 2019’ spans from 26 January to 17 February. Major events include an exhibition of Chinese master artists influenced by traditional styles, a concert of traditional music from Jiangxi featuring instruments made of Jingdezhen porcelain, a special film screening, Family Day at the Fitzwilliam Museum, Gala Performances, Chinese New Year Networking Dinner, cultural presentations in local schools.
