Cambridge Make Music Day
Following the success and growing popularity of Make Music Day in 2023 and 2024, we are excited to announce that in 2025, we’re taking things to the next level!
We will be expanding our celebration of local live music throughout the month of July for a new series, ‘Summer in the Square’. Come to Station Square every Wednesday in July 2025, 5.00pm – 7.00pm. This extended event will bring even more live music, performances, and experiences to Cambridge, providing opportunities for local artists to shine and for the community to enjoy music all month long.
Get ready for more performances and a whole new vibe that promises to make July 2025 the most exciting and vibrant summer yet! Stay tuned for more info. We are looking for local musicians who would like to perform, and any businesses who can offer a fun activity for the audience to engage with! Make Music Day 2024
The 2024 edition of Make Music Day in Cambridge continued the tradition of celebrating local musical talent. The event took place on June 21, 2024, at Station Square from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The headline act was Cambridge’s own Mr Griff, a session drummer turned frontman, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, known for his catchy, soulful, and funky original music performed alongside a live band.
The event was delivered by Cambridge BID in partnership with CB1 Community, with support from event sponsor FORA.
The event was free and open to all, encouraging attendees to bring friends, colleagues, children, or come solo to enjoy the community atmosphere. We had appox. 1000 people come and enjoy the event over the day.
Cambridge 105 Radio broadcasted live, and foodPark provided food and drink options, allowing attendees to relax in deckchairs and enjoy the performances.
Both years showcased Cambridge's vibrant music scene, providing a platform for artists to connect with the community and celebrate the universal language of music.
Make Music Day 2023 – Our Inaugural Event
2023 marked the first-ever Make Music Day in Cambridge, a new initiative launched to bring the community together through live music. Hosted at Station Square on June 21st, this debut event created a vibrant atmosphere, showcasing an exciting lineup of local talent across multiple genres.
